Dr Judy Webb's updated report on Stratfield Brake Woodland

Dr Webb has recently updated her survey of the section of woodland which borders the Triangle. This meticulous and evidence-based work provides further strong evidence that Natural England's recent designation of this site as Ancient Woodland was correct. Her report can be downloaded from our Ecology page.

Dr Webb is well-known as an experienced local ecologist however, her full credentials and experience are less widely appreciated:  In recognition of her 'services to conservation of wildlife and habitats in Oxfordshire', Dr Webb was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) in The Queen’s New Years Honours List in 2021.  She has been a trusted expert species recorder for Natural England at Aston Rowant SSSI/SAC/NNR in the Chilterns since 2011 and she volunteers there weekly. In addition, for Natural England, Dr Webb records species and hydrology at Cothill fen NNR (SSSI and SAC) near Abingdon weekly/monthly and has done so for at least 10 years.  Dr Webb also runs two practical conservation wildlife groups in Oxford City and advises the City Council Countryside Ranger Team on site management.

We have submitted Dr Webb's updated report to Cherwell District Council so it can form part of its evidence base for the planning application.
