Judicial review: Our 09 June 2026 legal update explained that OUFC had applied to have the court claim expedited i.e. put before a judge more quickly. This was met with only limited success: whilst the court did agree that the claim is a ‘significant Planning Court claim’, it did not expedite the claim to the extent that OUFC had hoped for. Instead the court proposed target timescales for each stage of the court process, but these are not binding.
At the time of writing we are waiting to see if FoSB is granted permission to proceed with its claim for a judicial review.
Ancient woodland: Work continues on the Stratfield Brake woodland that borders part of the proposed stadium site. We have assembled a suite of evidence to support the woodland as ancient and we continue to lobby Natural England accordingly.
Exeter College’s proposed EXOq development: We are disappointed to see that Exeter College does not consider Stratfield Brake to be ancient woodland and we are concerned about the impact the College's large development could have on this irreplaceable woodland habitat. We will be making appropriate representations in response to the planning application.
