We appeal for your help. We need to raise £1000 to crowdfund the additional work that our solicitor is having to do. We would be very grateful for any donations. We’ve always promised to only ever ask for money when it is really needed. Oxfordshire County Council has left us no choice.
As you are aware, earlier this month we sent Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) a pre-action letter. They replied and then we responded. All letters are available here on our website under the ‘Legal Action’ section: https://www.friendsofstratfieldbrake.org/shockingnews/
We have now heard back from OCC who have again failed to:
- engage with the ’duty of candour’ (i.e. their duty to be open and honest)
- provide advice and assistance as required by the Environmental Information Regulations, which cover Freedom of Information requests and which are supposed to provide public access to information held by public authorities.
That's why we are asking our supporters to chip in and help raise £1000 to cover the additional work that our solicitor is having to do. We would be very grateful for donations. Please note that, depending on the outcome of the OCC Cabinet decision on 19 September 2023, our BIG fund raising push will come later this month because we will have to raise many £000s. At the moment we are seeking MODEST donations only. We hope that we will get a good number of these so we aren’t asking too much of anyone.
